Download Problems

The information on this page is for Internet Explorer which is by far the most common internet browser. If you use a different browser, then the basic concept is still the same, but the actual words used will be a little different.

1. When you click on the "Download Cashbook" link, please select "Save this program to disk" and then press "OK"
2. From the "Save As" screen, browse to the "My Documents" folder, and then press "Save"
3. The progress bar should slowly move along. The download should take about half an hour to an hour with a dial up modem, or only a few minutes with a high-speed (broadband) internet connection
4. When the download has finished, click on "Open". (If you don't have an "Open" option then use "My Computer" to browse to the "My Documents" folder and double click on the file you just saved. eg. chsbk407.exe or updat407.exe)
5. A window should momentarily come up saying "Unzipping files. Please wait ...", and then a green screen with a picture of two people will be displayed. If you get an error at this stage, then you have only downloaded part of the file, or the file is corrupt in some way. This might be because you have a poor internet connection (eg. if you are on a farm), or for some other reason the download did not complete.  We recommend that you try downloading the file again.  Firstly try clearing out the web browsers cache first (click on Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files).  If that doesn't help then use a download manager program which will resume/fix broken downloads.
6. At this stage the download is successful, so you can click on "Install Cashbook Complete" or "Make Installation Disks" to carry on with your installation
